After arriving in St. Petersburg, we hung out at a stolovaya until 1pm, when we checked into the hotel, and slept. The previous day, we had done a LOT of walking around Kubinka and Patriot Park, then from the hotel to metro and the train station.
We woke up around 5pm and decided to eat at Garcon No 1 on Nevsky Prospect, and they had another menu with Georgian food. They had the best chebureks, even better than JonJoli's!
Um...then we did a LOT of souvenir shopping, and by the time we got to this statue of Pushkin, it was already 9pm. It probably doesn't look like 9pm, though, because it's White Nights!
We got to the river bank around 10pm, and waited, and waited...
Here are the actual fireworks. Hopefully the video links work.
My brother had to take the videos and pictures since I wasn't tall enough.
Afterward...note the throngs of people! I have never seen it this crowded in Russia. The crowds persisted even after we made it to Nevsky Prospect.
Though by the time we made it this far east to the monument, it wasn't that crowded anymore.
We bought kvass (for Mark) and vodka (for Albert) before going to bed.
